1 DEFINITIONS AND LAW


1.1“The Equipment” shall mean goods, materials, components or other items hired or sold by Event Engineering Ltd or any part thereof.
1.2“The Customer” is the person, business, corporate or public body hiring or purchasing equipment. Any person purporting to act on behalf of the Customer shall be bound by the contract.
1.3“The Company” shall mean Event Enngineering Ltd trading as Event Engineering.
1.4“Consequential loss” shall mean loss of profits, contracts or other consequential loss or damages whatsoever.
1.5“Interest” shall mean interest calculated in accordance with clause 6.1.4.
1.6“Contract” and “Hire Contract”, “Order Confirmation” and “Order Acknowledgement” shall mean the contract between Event Engineering Ltd and the customer for the hire and/or sale of goods and/or services to the customer, comprising of these terms and conditions, special conditions and any other documentation referred to in the company quotation.
1.7“Dry Hire” shall mean the equipment hired by Event Engineering Ltd to the customer, or any part thereof, where the customer arranges both the collection of the equipment from Event Engineering Ltd premises and the return of the equipment to Event Engineering Ltd. No delivery, installation, operation, breakdown or collection services are provided by Event Engineering Ltd.
1.8“Assisted Dry Hire” shall mean a Dry Hire where Event Engineering Ltd provide additional services for the delivery, installation, breakdown and collection, (including any of these services, all of them, or any part of them) and where the customer hires the equipment between the point of their collection of the equipment, or completion of installation where assisted, through to the return of the equipment to Event Engineering Ltd, or commencement of breakdown if assisted.
1.9“Production” shall mean a hire where Event Engineering Ltd provide are providing services to deliver, install, program, operate, engineer, breakdown and collection and remain on site with the equipment during the duration of the hire.
1.10 The Contract shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with English Law and the parties to this contract agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
1.11A reference to one gender includes a reference to all genders.
